I was trained as an architect and an architectural historian. I joined the University of Roma 3 in 2018 as Associate Professor of the History of Architecture. I obtained my BA+MA at the Università IUAV of Venice (2006), my Master in Architectural History at the Università degli Studi Roma 3 in Rome (2008), my PhD in History of Architecture at the Università IUAV of Venice (2012). In 2013 I won a two years post-doctoral grant at the Politecnico di Milano – Mantua campus, where I taught since 2015. In 2016 I was awarded a prestigious two years post-doctoral Alexander von Humboldt Foundation fellowship. In 2020 I was chercheuse invitée at the INHA, where I began a research on XIX Century architectural sketchbooks. In 2021 I was awarder a Kurzzeitstipendium (visiting scholarchip) at the Herzog August Bibliothek Wolfenbüttel. My research focuses on early modern architecture, with particular interest in Italy and, more recently, in European architecture. Particular areas of interest include the relationship among architecture, literature and religion; architectural treatises and drawings; the classic tradition, the reception of antique art and the knowledge of antique monuments in the Renaissance. I participated in national and international research projects, among others the Census of Antique Works of Art and Architecture Known in the Renaissance, carried out at the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin. I am member of the scientific committee of the Digital Serlio project, supported by Columbia University (New York), Università Alma Mater Studiorum (Bologna) and the École Nationale des Chartes (Paris) and of the network Red Columnaria. Since 2016 I serve as Editor in Chief of the Journal Studi e ricerche di Storia dell’architettura, published by the Italian society of architectural historians (AISTARCH).
