Description

Lasting three to six months, this transnational fellowship aims to support interdisciplinary, innovative, and experimental research projects in the field of digital humanities. It invites candidates to use and connect the digital resources of the INHA and the BHMPI in collaboration with their respective teams.

The grant is set at approximately €2,000 per month for doctoral students and approximately €2,500 per month for postdoctoral researchers. It does not include accommodation. The fellows will be required to present the results of their research at one of the partner institutions and then publish them in open access. Recipients will spend half of their stay at one of the two institutions. Candidates will be selected by a joint jury composed of representatives from INHA and BHMPI.

Special clause 2026

Exceptionally, as part of the launch of the scholarship for the year 2026, the Unione Internazionale degli Istituti di Archeologia, Storia e Storia dell’Arte in Roma (Unione) is offering fellows, who request it, the opportunity to extend their stay in Rome for a maximum of two months in order to complete their research by using other documentary resources or complementary methods at one of the member institutes of its network (https://www.unioneinternazionale.it).

This extension is subject to an express request made in the research project when submitting the application. Applicants may contact the institution concerned in advance for this purpose.

Partner institutions adhere to the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion and therefore particularly encourage applications from underrepresented groups.
